Act now! For a limited time we are running a sale on LogTen Pro for the iPhone. In-app purchase cost will be 50% off until 01 Sept 2010!!

LogTen Pro for the iPhone is here! But its a completely different program with a significant change in sync methodology. Following these steps should lead to a seamless migration process.

1. Download LogTen Pro for the iPhone either directly to your phone or to iTunes and then sync it to your phone.
2. If you do not use LogTen Pro for the Mac (aka you only used LogTen Mobile or Basic), make sure that LogTen Mobile or Basic remains on your iPhone for now. Don’t delete it just yet – that happens at Step 8.
3. Make sure that LogTen Mobile is not running in the background (iPhone OS 4+). To make sure its not, follow these instructions to quit the app under the new MultiTasking.
4. Launch LogTen Pro for the first time. It should prompt you if you want to import flights from LogTen Mobile or Basic. Choose “Yes” if you only use our iPhone software. Choose “No” if you have your flights synced to LogTen Pro on the Mac.

5. If you use LogTen Pro for the Mac, then follow the directions on How to Sync Your iPhone.
6. Once you have over 40 hours (synced, logged or imported) and you go to add a new flight, it will prompt you to pay for LogTen Pro.

7. You’ll be asked to provide your iTunes password and you will be charged through the App Store.
8. Now that LogTen Pro for the iPhone has been paid for, you can safely delete LogTen Mobile or Basic and its data from your phone.

Important Note:

If you have already purchased LogTen Pro for the iPhone and you had to restore it, you can opt to “Restore Previous Purchase) in the screen depicted in Step 6.

Some users have been experiencing some anomalies when trying to sync or detect that LogTen Mobile is running on the iPhone. This has to do with portions of the application that get executed upon activation or opening. Part of this also has to do with the new MultiTasking functionality that Apple introduced with iPhone OS 4+. If you are running iPhone OS 4+ you now have multitasking and simply using the Home button to stop using the app does not actually quit the app. Rather, it places it into the background. Follow the steps below to ensure that any of our LogTen apps on the iPhone are completely quit.

1. Close out of the LogTen app.

2. Double-click the Home button to load recently used apps in MultiTasking:

3. Select the application by tapping and holding on the application until the red minus appears:

4. Tap the red minus to quit the application. This also removes an application from recently used apps:

5. Press the Home button to return to recently used apps. Then press the Home button again return to the Home screen.

6. Locate and open the LogTen Mobile or LogTen Pro application as desired.

Note: the pictures above show an example of quitting LogTen Mobile and leaving LogTen Pro running.

LogTenPro 3.0.x iPhone (newest release)

1. Make sure that both iPhone and Mac are connected to the same wireless network (see note about wireless networks below).
2. Open LogTenPro on both iPhone and Mac.
3. In the “Flights” tab on the Mac, select the name of your iPhone under “Devices”.

4. Click “Pair”, and type in the 4 number code that appears on your phone (this will only happen once).

5. Click “Sync Now”.

LogTen Mobile 2.4.x

To sync your LogTen Mobile data on your iPhone or iPod Touch with your data on your Mac in LogTen Pro you generally just need to select the Sync tab in LogTen Mobile and tap the “Sync Now” button.

If you are experiencing any trouble, please try the the following steps:

Make sure your Mac and iPhone are on the same local network (see note about wireless networks below).

If your phone is connected using USB cable, disconnect your iPhone from the Mac. Syncing is over WiFi and some users have reported trouble when the device is connected to iTunes.

Quit LogTen Pro, and LogTen Mobile. If you are using iOS 4, make sure the app is fully quit and not in background state.

Open LogTen Pro on the Mac making sure to have the Flights tab open. Then launch LogTen Mobile on your device.

On your iPhone, select the Sync tab and select your active logbook from the list. This filename should end in a .logten. If the iPhone can’t find your file, you may need to set it using the “Settings” button in the upper left corner of the Sync screen.

Tap the “Sync Now” button.

General Tips for all iPhone Applications

Syncing should complete within a matter of seconds, if it goes longer then 3 or 4 minutes it’s almost certainly not going to complete. (NOTE: If you have a lot of images, then it could take longer.) If this occurs go into the Security pane of System Preferences and click the “Firewall” tab and ensure that it is set to “Allow all incoming connections”.

Also, if you’re trying to sync on a hotel or airport wireless network it’s possible they are blocking the ports that LogTen needs to sync. If this is the case, you can create a private network between your Mac and iPhone and see if this resolves the issue. To do this choose “Create Network” from the Airport menu on your Mac (located in the menubar at the top right of your screen near the clock), then connect your iPhone to this network and try the sync again.

If you continue to have any difficulty send us an email to support at coradine dot com and we’ll be happy to assist you right away!

When you use LogTen Pro on both your iPhone and your Mac you get the peace of mind of knowing that you have a full backup of your data on both devices. Should either one suffer an unfortunate accident, you can easily restore all your data from the other device!

Import your existing data from virtually any other logbook software, or spreadsheet

Airline schedule importing

Configure times to be auto entered

Print directly from your logbook (on the iPhone you can generate the report and upload to logten.com, then print from any browser)

Many countries require student flights and/or certain endorsements to be signed by the instructor. We always recommend that you periodically print out hard copies of your logbook from LogTen Pro for safe keeping, and you have several options for managing signatures.

You can get pre-made endorsement sheets here: http://secure.nc-software.com/Endorsement-Solutions-C18.aspx which you can have signed and keep in your binder.

You can print out the certificates you create in LogTen Pro and have them signed.

You can simply use whatever hard copy method you use now, then take a digital photo or scan it and insert that into the certificate entry in LogTen! This keeps a digital copy in your electronic logbook which you can then view on your computer or print as desired.
